Me and my son love the game so much that i have got a nice desk lamp to hover directly over the mat to eliminate any lightning problems that can occur while going from daylight to night time while playing and so on. I am not overly concerned with deck 3 yet because I am still playing with deck 1 and 2 at moment. got a Phantom and 4 Ultra Rares (so 5 UR out of 14 packs) was really good deal. I recently found a deal on 14 booster packs for set 2 for about $2.50 each. I have all of set 1 now and most of set 2. I like to have the actual cards but I may print off a few of the super rare expensive ones just to get by until I can buy them cheap through some deal on ebay. Yeah, i started working on the trophies awhile ago too, i got to a point where the cards from the starter pack will no longer be able to beat the computer decks, i figured i would play my other games for awhile and pick up some more cards at some point, never did, hopefully i can still get what i need to finish up the trophies, thanks for the links, ill check them out when im not at work Lots of fun but not so easy to get all the trophies. Got my cards a while back but just didn't have the time to play the game. Could someone point out the fault in this logic? I feel like this shouldn't be right. One possibility might be to check auction sites like E-bay or Yahoo Auctions.Īlso, speciality retailers who specialize not in video games but in collectible card games might be a good source to check.Ĭurrently, I'm trying to get all the trophies for this game. This would mean that the cost of the card isn't changed to the target's cost until after the cost of X (= 0) has been paid, which would be pointless most of the time. Ability effects complete their initiation and resolve The card is played, or ability effects attempt to initiateħ. "X is that event's printed cost" appears as part of the Interrupt ability text. Pay the cost (This happens before the effects even attempt to initiate in step 6 below. Determine the cost to play the card and continue if it can be paidĤ. Check if the card is restricted from being playedĢ. Shouldn't the cost -paid- for this card always be 0? Looking at page 10 of the rules reference for what to do when playing a card (I'm starting the numbering at zero because the rules reference doesn't number the first step):ġ. Let's take for granted that the card works in the way it should, and work from there when thinking about it. So far, the rules here are extremely clear as to how the card works. Trouble is, people don't really agree on what they like about the symmetry/wording, what is intuitive, or how they feel a card "ought" to work. People often lapse into the trap of thinking that because something is unintuitive to them, or because they dislike the symmetry/wording, or because they feel the card ought to work differently, that for some reason that's a failure of the rules or the design. Why assume that's a mistake? That it's "supposed to be a trade off" as you claim, when the decision about what it was supposed to be was certainly deliberate? If they had wanted it to be the gold cost paid, they'd have said that - they specifically refer to the *printed* gold cost. Or if I'm using Things I do for Love on a character who costs X (they don't exist yet, but they might well).

Or, conversely, with Paxter, my opponent could have paid less to cancel my put to the sword than I paid to play it. That illogic.Įxcept that with Fealty, or Paxter, I could have paid less for my event than the person Hand's Judgement-ing it. There is no trade off when you pay 0 when your opponent pay 3, 4 or 5 gold for his event just because the cost is X. So the the more powerful an event is, the hardest is to play it and the hardest it is to negate it. when a player play an event, you get the chance to pay the same thing to negate it. Hand of judgment is supposed to be a trade off.
